Air conditioning cooling water systems are generally divided into open and closed types. The open system has a good effect and low cost. However, in the operation of an open system, the quality of circulating cooling water is prone to change for the following reasons:

  • After evaporation, cooling, and concentration, Ca2+, Mg2+, C1-, SO42- dissolved solids, and suspended matter in the water gradually increase.
  • Wind and sunlight, dust, debris, and soluble gas pollution in the air cause changes in water quality. This leads to system scaling, corrosion, and bacterial and algal blooms. This results in increased system thermal resistance, reduced cooling capacity, equipment corrosion, and shortened service life.

Why do you need a HydroPro-KTZ self-cleaning filter?

HydroPro-KTZ self-cleaning filter can play an important role in the filtration process of air conditioning circulating cooling water. The central air conditioning circulating water system includes a circulating cooling water system and a circulating refrigerant water system. Cooling water pumps, pipes, cooling water towers, heat exchangers, water pools and other components form an open circulation loop. During the operation of the circulating water system, the water quality will change, and due to other reasons, the system will have varying degrees of rust and dirt. If left untreated, it will seriously affect the normal operation of the air conditioning equipment. To avoid the clogging effects of particulate impurities, HydroPro-KTZ self-cleaning filters are a good choice.

Their central air conditioning and refrigeration station has a 400k kcal screw compressor and two 200k kcal piston compressors. Circulating water will participate in the heat exchange process, and the volume of circulating water is approximately 600 cubic meters per hour. In addition, there are three fiberglass cooling towers with an inlet water temperature of 26 degrees and an outlet water temperature of 30 degrees.
Add softened water to the circulating water system. During maintenance, it was found that there was clogging and scaling in the exchanger tube bundle. Working principle

Installation location: usually the outlet of the circulating water pump.

  • During normal operation, the water flow diverting valve is open. Water flows through the filter, and then uses the principle of inertia to deposit fine impurities and suspended solids in the water near the sewage outlet.
  • During normal flushing, the water flow diverting valve is open. When the filter intercepts a certain amount of fine impurities and suspended solids in the water, open the valve on the sewage outlet. Under the action of water flow, the impurities stuck in the collection section of the filter are continuously reduced until the discharge water is clear. Then close the filter on the sewage outlet to enter normal working conditions.
  • When backwashing, close the water flow diverting valve. Open the drain valve, and then the water flow is forced from the mesh of the inlet section of the filter cylinder into the interlayer between the outside of the filter cylinder and the shell. Rinse the impurities adhered to the mesh from the outside of the mesh cylinder in reverse direction. Thereby achieving the purpose of cleaning the filter. Close the steering valve, the flow rate of water increases after passing through the backwash valve, and the backwash effect is good.
