The blast furnace gas washing water quality is greatly affected by the blast furnace smelting materials. In particular, blast furnace iron ore contains zinc. This results in the blast furnace gas wash water containing zinc ions. The water quality of each process section in the blast furnace gas scrubbing water system is also different. For this reason, the blast furnace gas scrubbing water system is divided into a return water section, an intermediate section, and a water delivery section.

  • The return water section is from the washing equipment to the entrance of the sedimentation equipment.
  • The middle section is from the outlet of the sedimentation equipment to the cold water pool.

The scale in the blast furnace gas scrubbing water system is mostly gray-white mixed with black particles. Except for the dense and hard scale on the water pump impeller and washing tower nozzle, the scale is relatively loose. Judging from the analysis of the components of the scale samples in the pipeline, it is mainly zinc, calcium, iron, and acid-insoluble matter. This shows that dirt is mainly composed of zinc, calcium scale, and suspended solids.

Blast furnace gas washing water is discharged from gas washing towers, ventures, pressure-reducing valves, wet electrostatic precipitators, and other facilities. Water mainly contains TFe, Fe2O3, FeO, SiO2, CaO, MnO, C and other substances. It mainly contains iron powder, but also contains coke powder and a small amount of phenol and cyanide toxic substances.
The suspended solids content of blast furnace gas washing water is between 700mg/L and 3000mg/L, and the particle size is around 50-60μm, generally around 100-300μm. Suspended solids can be effectively removed using HydroPro-GXS. The concentration of suspended solids in the effluent is between 100mg/L and 200mg/L.
