Project Overview

Location of self cleaning filter project: A steel plant in France.

Situation: High water quality requirements and large water volume.

Usage: River water is used as supplementary water for production.

Filtration system: Self cleaning filter + automatic sand filter.

Solution: Self cleaning filter +s hallow sand to form a secondary pretreatment system.

Design parameters

  • Water temperature: normal temperature.
  • Water particles ≥ 1mm.
  • Processing water volume Q=200m ³/h.
  • Inflow turbidity ≤ 2000mg/L.
  • Effluent turbidity ≤ 10mg/L.

The operation of the process may be affected by unstable water quality factors. Excessive levels of substances such as turbidity, colloids, and algae. Therefore, it is recommended to set the water intake point of the water station upstream of the plant. To ensure more stable and reliable operation of the equipment.

If there is a certain amount of algae or other microorganisms in the incoming water of the water station. It is recommended to add a certain amount of disinfectant in the purification process. To prevent algae and microorganisms from clogging the filter material layer inside the device during filtration. This leads to frequent backwashing of automatic sand filters. It not only wastes water resources, but also causes significant fluctuations in effluent quality and water volume.

Equipment Selection

Based on the above water quality conditions, our selection plan is as follows.

  • The HydroPro series self cleaning filter developed by Bluslot.

These two filtration systems work together to form an efficient filtration system.

Automatic sand filter can process high turbidity water and low temperature and low turbidity raw water. The entire system has the advantages of simple process, no need for specialized operation and management, small footprint, and low investment.

The daily processing water volume for engineering design is 2400m ³. Due to various factors such as tight construction land and high water consumption. Our final choice is to use one 200T/H auto clean filter as the main filter. The reasons are as follows:

  • Satisfy the prerequisite conditions for water quality and quantity.
  • High degree of automation and low investment.
  • Convenient operation and management.

This self cleaning filter uses a filter to directly intercept impurities in water. Remove suspended solids and particles from water bodies, reduce turbidity, and purify water quality. Reduce the generation of system dirt, bacteria, algae, rust, etc. Pre filtration equipment used to purify water quality and protect the normal operation of other equipment.

Working principle of HydroPro self cleaning filter

Structure: Motor, electrical control box, control pipeline, main pipe component, filter element component, stainless steel brush, frame component, transmission shaft, inlet and outlet connection flange, etc.

  • The filtering medium enters from the inlet. After filtering out impurities in the fluid through a filter, it flows into the system through the outlet.
  • During the filtering process. The dirt and impurities gradually accumulate in the accumulated water inside the filter. Thus forming a filtering impurity layer.
  • Impurity layers accumulate on the inner side of the filter screen. Therefore, a pressure difference is formed on both sides of the filter screen.
  • Intelligent (PLC, PAC) design. The system can automatically identify the degree of impurity deposition. When the pressure difference of the filter reaches the preset value, the automatic cleaning process will begin.
  • The clean water supply here is constantly flowing. At the same time, the electric motor drives the transmission shaft to move in a spiral motion. The transmission shaft drives the steel brush to rotate and clean the entire inner surface of the filter screen.
  • The entire flushing process only takes a few seconds, and the drain valve closes at the end of the cleaning.
  • Start preparing for the next filtration cycle by self-cleaning the filter.
