Why use a HydroCap-YCC resin trap filter?

HydroCap-YCC resin trap filter can intercept escaping resin in the cation bed system.
When the resin in the cation bed system breaks, it can enter the entire water system. It will affect the normal operation of other equipment in the system, so a HydroCap-YCC resin trap filter is necessary.

Why does resin break? 

  • low quality. During the manufacturing process, improper maintenance of process parameters will cause some or a large number of resin particles to crack or break. This results in low crushing strength of the resin particles and a low sphericity rate after grinding.
  • Frozen. Resin particles contain a large amount of moisture inside. When stored or transported at low temperatures, this moisture will freeze and expand in volume, causing the resin particles to collapse. To prevent the resin from freezing, it is best to store it at 5-40℃ and avoid transportation during the freezing period.
  • Dry. Resin particles shrink smaller as they lose moisture. When dry resin is immersed in water, it quickly absorbs water and expands in particle size, causing the resin to ball up and break. For this reason, keep the resin sealed during storage and transportation to prevent drying out. The dried resin should first be immersed in saturated salt water. Use a high concentration of ions in the solution to inhibit the expansion of the resin particles. Then gradually dilute to reduce crack balls and breakage of the resin.
  • Effect of osmotic pressure. During the failure process, the resin particles will develop internal stresses that expand or contract. Repeated expansion and contraction are the main reasons for cracks or breakage of resin particles. When gel-type resin is working, the maximum flow rate generally does not exceed 40m/h. In the condensate desalination process, the maximum flow rate generally does not exceed 60m/h. Macroporous resin has larger porosity and can withstand larger transformation speeds, and the flow rate of condensate can be as high as 100m/h.
